This is defined as when the product/payload temperature falls outside its prescribed temperature range along the cold chain. Temperature excursions must remain between 2-15 degrees Celsius (35.6-59 degrees Fahrenheit) for less than 24 hours, with a mean kinetic temperature (MKT) of equal to or lass than 8 degrees Celsius (46.4 degrees Fahrenheit) (ISTA). Different payloads may have different prescribed Excursion limits.
