They have an increased energy storage capacity; not subject to supercooling; noncorrosive; stable. Unfortunately, Paraffins are expensive; they do not have a sharp phase change temperature range; they are petroleum based and can be toxic; flammable; non-biodegradable; incompatible with polymer packaging.
